Voltage IndicatorsAs safe working practice, voltage indicators should always be tested with a known live source or dedicated proving unit before and after use. Martindale's range of GS38 compliant voltage indicators and proving unit are hard wearing, reliable and necessary test equipment for the working electrician.

This GS38 compliant contact voltage indicator is designed to rapidly and safely check for the presence of AC and DC voltages from 50V to 600V, as required by the Electricity Council. The bright, long life neon indicators give clear and immediate display of the voltage level range. The tough, moulded case construction combined with heavy duty, double insulated leads which terminate into a lockable and retractable prod sheath and a substantial finger guard makes this a very reliable and safe instrument. The return lead incorporates an HSC fuse which, together with the retractable test prods, ensures that the unit fully meets all the GS38, M15/4, HSE and IEC1010 recommendations. The TEK100 is easy in use and is suitable for detecting 100 to 600V AC without requiring physical contact with the conductor. The presence of any voltage between 100V and 600V AC will generate an audible tone, together with a red visual indication. The integral self test activates the sensor in the tip of the tester at 50Hz as well as checking the battery and LED. This proves that the unit is fully functional and acts as a true proving device. The TEK200 detects the presence and polarity of magnetic fields produced by indicators, relays, solenoids and transformers. The integral self test activates the sensor in the tip of the tester at 50Hz as well as checking the battery and LED this acts as a true proving device. This proves that the unit is fully functional. In addition, this unit incorporates all the capability of the TEK100 voltage indicator detailed above producing a versatile instrument in a slim and well designed ABS housing. The PD690 proving unit produces 690V AC/DC to enable voltage indicators to be fully checked. This unit is suitable for indicators with 230V and 415 / 440V AC or DC detection ranges, such as the Martindale VI13700G.The PD690 is one of the few proving units to check indicators with ranges above 250V. The PD690 can also check Drummond and other filament lamps due to its output being sufficient to illuminate the bulb. PD690 Technical Specification Instruction Manual |

Nothing is more dangerous than trusting a defective voltage indicator to test for a dead circuit. Safe electrical work requires the use of a voltage indicator that has been proved with a proving unit before and after use. Click here for more information |
